Fall 2017 Surveys: $50 Gift Card!

In an ongoing effort to evaluate the Solano Safe Routes to School Program, we are requesting each school conduct a simple hand tally survey form in each classroom to see how students get to and from school.

As a token of our appreciation, all schools who return the completed surveys will receive a $50 Amazon gift card to be raffled off to teachers who complete the classroom hand tally sheets. Each school has been mailed a Survey Packet which is also available here: Solano SR2S Fall 2017 Surveys

Red Ribbon Event October 28, 2017

 
Solano Safe Routes to School (SR2S)will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week to promote a drug free America. Meet us in Dixon at the Northwest Park on Saturday October 28th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
 
There will be free food, raffles, jump houses, jousting and a Wipe-Out Obstacle Course. Our partners at Bay Area Bike Mobile will also be there to tune up some bikes so make sure to get to this event!

Benicia Bike Workshop 2017

International Walk to School Day 2017

Thank you to all 10,000 Solano County students who participated in International Walk to School Day! Bike to School Day 2017

Hundreds of local students will strap on safety helmets and pedal to school on National Bike to School Day Wednesday, May 10, 2017. The annual event focuses attention on the physical and environmental benefits of biking or walking to school instead of commuting by car. Click here for more information and to download posters.

2017 SR2S Poster Contest

The Solano Safe Routes to School (SR2S) Program is excited to announce our 3rd Annual Poster Contest open to all Solano County students as a way to encourage walking, biking or riding a scooter to school. All entries must be accompanied by an entry form. Submitted artwork may be featured in county-wide Safe Routes to School promotional materials. Click here for more information and for flyers and entry forms.

For the past 8 years, the Solano SR2S Program has worked with Solano schools to make them healthier and safer. This year we're hoping to:

1. Get students more physically active!

2. Increase the number of SR2S Champions across Solano County. See our Champion.

3. Engage more middle & high school students - See our Youth Engagement Pilot Program here!
